Xiang

The province of Hunan is abbreviated by the character Xiang [ ] which has also lent itself to this language. The language was also refered to as Hunanese. The city of Changsha [ ] is the paragon for Xiang.

The Xiang dialect of ShuangFeng also includes a set of voiced initials

Also, instead of the unvoiced alveolo-palatal fricative this dialect has an unvoiced retroflex fricative which takes on the high front unrounded retroflex vowel .
